The Garden Room is a plywood cabin built in the garden of a suburban London home. Approached as a prototype for prefabricated dwellings, the components of the structure were pre-cut and jointed by CNC milling before assembly on site. The Garden Room was a collaborative project with architect Keita Tajima, and was awarded the Asakura prize at the SD Review awards 2009 by a panel of judges including the internationally renowned architects Fumihiko Maki and Toyo Ito.
